Yoga & Brunch x Barnett Hill Hotel

When: 16th June 2024

Where: Blackheath Ln, Wonersh, Guildford GU5 0RF

Time: 10am-1pm

It's that time of the year when Nature teases us with a taster of longer days and warmer weather - and we are here for it!

Join us for a Sun Salutations Celebration surrounded by nature!

We can't wait to welcome you to our newest venue as we take our yoga practice to the stunning gardens of the Barnett Hill Hotel in Guildford with impressive views across the Surrey hills.

Begin the day with gentle movements and breathwork to awaken the body and prepare for the fiery practice ahead. Focus on deepening your breath to cultivate internal heat. Enjoy dynamic postures that activate the Manipura (solar plexus) chakra, the centre of personal power and vitality associated with the fire element, followed by a guided relaxation to allow your body and mind to cool down and integrate the benefits of your practice.

This Yoga Flow will help you ignite your inner strength, passion, and vitality!

After our yoga flow, we will learn all about nutrition to support the perimenopause and menopause with Bea Lyus, a Registered Nutritional Therapist. From mood swings, to sugar impact - hot flushes/night sweats, joints, depression/anxiety, weight gain / slowed down metabolism, to impact on sexual health -vaginal dryness, low libido. Discover more about your own body and feel empowered to live your best life!

We will finish the day nourishing the body and mind with a delicious 3-course veggie Brunch served indoors by the talented kitchen team at the Barnett Hill hotel as you enjoy and connect with old and new friends alike.

  • About Barnett Hill Hotel

Barnett Hill is a seriously hip destination in the Surrey Hills, if we do say so ourselves. Perched atop our Hill and revealing itself at the end of our winding tree-lined drive, Barnett Hill is (in the words of the Telegraph no less) a 'gingerbread-brick palace'. Contemporary and design-led, the 56 boutique rooms, suites and residences are appointed with oh-so-chic designer furnishings, sure to set hearts aflutter. Spread across the main Mansion House, Courtyard and Gardener's Cottage, we have something for everyone; from cheeky getaways in our fabulous four-poster suites to countryside escapes with the pooch in our Courtyard rooms.

Barnett Hill was originally the private home of the famed Thomas Cook family, and we're sure you'll feel right at home the minute you arrive at the Hill. It's a destination where friends and family come together to feast and celebrate, revel in life's little luxuries and get some seriously deep relaxation. We think you're going to love it.

  • About Bea

I am an experienced Naturopathic Nutritional Therapist who qualified from the College of Naturopathic Medicine in 2014. I originally graduated as an Economist with a first-class degree, however soon afterwards I experienced a period of hormonal and digestive problems. My quest for a natural, non-pharmaceutical solution led me to study and qualify in Nutritional Therapy.

When I learned about nutritional therapy, this struck a chord with me as it combines the science of biochemistry with nutrition and naturopathy (naturally occurring, drug-free, botanical medicines) to benefit the whole body.  For many years, research has recognized that what we eat influences how we feel, our ability to concentrate, to live life enjoyably, and to resist infections and serious illnesses. So I help clients achieve great results using functional testing or science-based research to prepare personalized, data-driven therapy programmes.

I supported clients and achieved life-changing results: migraines have gone after 40 years, insomnia & stress diminished for a high-flyer worker, musculoskeletal pain does not require painkillers anymore to name just a few. No small problem is too little for me to support someone’s optimal health.

In recent years, I have written blogs, scientific articles, and training materials for different botanical ingredients and have been featured in Cosmopolitan UK. I am absolutely fascinated with food and science, mental health and wellbeing.

I am also a member of the British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT) and registered by the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). My quest for the best will help you become naturally healthy.
